The aim of the on-line HARPERS WP5 Workshop is to present the main findings of the work on the three priority topics identified in the first phase of the project for Advanced Technologies

HARPERS Work Package 4 aims to identify the most important conditions and opportunities for establishing a Circular Economy in radioactive waste management activities across Europe. The outcomes will provide Member States, the European Commission and other interested Stakeholders with guidance on implementing Circular Economy principles and facilitating the safe reuse and recycling of materials.
Among the three themes identified in the first phase (Phase 1a) of the project as the the top priorities for Circular Economy considerations, task 4.2a is devoted to analysing the topic of National regulations and criteria for Clearance and/or (conditional) Releasing.

The fourth HARPERS Consortium Meeting is taking place in Brasov - Romania and is reserved for HARPERS Project partners. 

The two-days event will focus on the evolution of the project (Phase 2) enhancing the stakeholder engagement. The presentations will highlitght the deeper analysis on the nine priority topics defined within the technical work packages with connection to the regulatory impacts and business case.

The Final annual event of the European Joint Programme on Radioactive Waste Management will be held in Bucarest from 23 to 25 April.

 The Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform Forum will take place in Rome from 17 to 19 April to discuss and analyse recent technological innovations in the nuclear sector. Some key discussions and insights will be: SMR, AMR, LTO, New NPPs, Decommissioning and Dismantling, Non-electrical application for nuclear, Fuel Cycle.

The third HARPERS Consortium Meeting took place in Espoo - Helsinki (Finland) and was reserved for HARPERS Project partners. It was held in hybrid mode (in-person and online attendance).

After the closure of the Open call application and the review process, the progress and the future steps of the project were presented and discussed.

After receiving feedback and input from many external and internal stakeholders during our 6 workshops, the project has now listed the prioritized topics on circular economy, cross border facilities and advanced technologies.
